Girls Night Out in Branson, Missouri

We had our monthly Girls Night Out, and this month was Leslie's birthday. So began the scheming. With another friend, Tamara, we began the planning back in the middle of December. We wanted to do something to surprise her, so we decided on a kidnapping, overnight, trip to Branson.

Earlier in the week Tamara and I made Leslie a Topsy-turvy marshmallow fondant cake. It was a total blast to make. Through a fun survey I put out on facebook (specifically to get information from Leslie), we learned her favorite color is pink and her favorite cake flavor was white. It was a great new thing to learn.

On Friday I picked up Tamara and Chandi then we went to Leslie's house. I knocked on the door and told her we were leaving and to kiss her husband and baby good-bye. Thankfully her husband Brett was great enough to pack her bag before hand. I got her to the car and Tamara and Chandi surprised her, and of course took pictures. We refused to tell her anything. We stopped and had some pizza (her favorite food). Then got on the road again. For a while she thought we were going to her sister-in-laws in Oklahoma (and we let her think whatever she thought of). When we were about 6 miles away I had to turn on the GPS, and then she figured out where we were going.

We checked into our hotel room and began the fun. I don't think any of us have laughed that hard in a long time. We played catch phrase and laughed at our efforts to get the descriptions out and not the words. Some interesting things were said and that made great memories.

After several games of catch phrase and Leslie and I the victors, we decided to do a bit of hot tubbing. It was so nice and relaxing. After that we had to get another bite to eat. We hit the Taco Bell by the hotel and all ordered one of those Frutista things. They were pretty good.

After our Taco Bell we put on Ever After: A Cinderella Story (one of Leslie's favorite movies). Tamara and I fell asleep and fell victim to the camera. Wicked wars began with who could get the worst picture of someone else. We all eventually passed out.

After waking up and getting ready for the day, we took more pictures. And, of course, had a lot of fun coming up with fun poses. During this process you wouldn't think we were all grow women, they way we laughed like teenagers.

In the morning we had breakfast at the hotel, and second breakfast at Krispy Kreams for a free donut. We hit the outlet malls, the Target, Chili's for lunch, and the an out of the way decor fabric shop, and then we headed home.
We all picked a hat that we liked or at least fit and took a picture.Leslie in her $1 princess hat.
After we were done with lunch, Leslie dropped some change under the table. She couldn't let, what she thought were quarters, go to waste. She she dug them out from under the bench. This picture is of her stylishly flipping her hair from her face. It think it was one of the better pictures of the trip.

On the way home, pour Chandi and Tamara fell asleep in the car, and they were the next victims of the evil camera. It was a pretty funny shot. Chandi didn't begin on Tamara's lap. She kind of slid over when I took a curve while Leslie was taking pictures.

A good time was had by all. I'm glad my birthday is still a while away, so hopefully they will forget all my plotting and scheming and go easy on me. I think it's one of those great weekends that we'll always remember, and look back on fondly, and laugh about. Thanks girls for being such great friends and good sports.
